Basketball Wheelchairs

Hard-court or "all-court" wheelchairs are ideal for wheelchair basketball, hockey, quad rugby and softball hockey. Basketball wheelchairs are extremely lightweight, responsive and highly maneuverable.

The names in basketball wheelchairs and other sports court chairs are Sunrise Medical (makers of Quickie wheelchairs), Invacare, Colours and TiLite titanium wheelchairs. There are two main types of basketball wheelchairs: adjustable and non-adjustable.

Adjustable
Adjustable basketball wheelchairs allow you to change your center of gravity, adjust seat height, and changes to your back angle and back height. Many seasoned players use an adjustable chair.

Non-Adjustable
If you know your seat-to-floor height, frame length, and won't be changing them, a rigid, non-adjustable basketball chair is a good option. This type of wheelchair is lighter in weight as it has less movable parts.
